Who operates this website

Coach Luhrs operates Luhrs Baseball as a sole proprietor providing baseball instruction in Ventura, California, United States. This notice describes the information handled through the website and its private coaching records.

For privacy questions, contact the coach through @luhrsbaseball on Instagram. Do not include verification codes, medical information, or other sensitive details in your initial message.

Our approach

You can browse Luhrs Baseball information and availability without signing in. When online booking is enabled, an adult athlete or parent/guardian can verify a phone number and book a lesson. We do not process payments on this website.

The website is currently in beta and development is ongoing. Features may change, contain errors, or be temporarily unavailable. The development notice in our terms does not reduce our privacy obligations. This notice still applies to the personal information handled through the website during beta.

Lesson bookings and phone verification

When you book a lesson, we collect the parent/guardian or adult athlete's name, an athlete's first name and age in years, a verified phone number, the selected session and lesson category, and booking status. We also keep account and booking identifiers, creation and update times, and the time and policy version recorded when you accept the booking terms. We use this information to manage lessons, respond to requests, identify your bookings, and prevent abuse. The coach can contact you directly about your lesson. Submitting a request does not subscribe you to marketing messages.

Firebase, a Google service, handles sign-in, verification texts, and data storage. Phone numbers provided for authentication are sent to and stored by Google for spam and abuse prevention across Google services. Verification texts may incur message and data charges. Security checks, including Google reCAPTCHA where used, may also process browser, device, and network information. See Google's privacy policy.

Request details and phone numbers are not included in public availability listings. The authorized coach can review these details; your signed-in account can view its own saved bookings. An athlete’s recorded age is their age when the booking was submitted, not an automatically updated current age. The coach may see the athlete name and age from your latest booking alongside your private contact record.

Family and athlete records

The coach manages private family and athlete records for record-keeping, including family names, athlete names, ages and active status, and guardian names and phone numbers. The coach may enter information supplied directly by you outside the booking form. These records are separate from booking and are not shown to parents through this feature. Booking access is managed using standalone verified phone records. A first-time lesson request saves the booking details and a pending phone record so the coach can review it. The request holds a lesson spot, but remains unconfirmed until approved. The coach separately decides whether that phone number is trusted for future instant bookings. A contact-only access request, without a selected lesson, does not hold a spot.

Family details are coach-only. Booking approval does not grant access to athlete records or create a family profile. Contact the coach to correct these records or discuss deletion. This website does not currently accept dates of birth, progress-file uploads, or medical information through these features.

Sign-in and browser storage

Firebase Authentication uses browser storage to keep you signed in. Your sign-in may persist after you close the browser until you sign out. The coach signs in with an authorized Google account; Firebase processes that account’s sign-in information. Security services may also use cookies or similar technologies for verification and abuse prevention.

The booking form keeps unfinished details in page memory. We do not save that draft in our own persistent browser storage. The coach’s calendar display preferences may be saved locally on their device. Sign out on shared devices. Clearing browser storage can remove local sign-in state and preferences, but does not delete server records.

Technical information

Like most websites, our hosting and security providers may automatically process limited technical information when the site is visited. This can include an IP address, browser or device type, requested pages, timestamps, and diagnostic or security logs. This information is used to deliver, secure, and maintain the website.

We do not sell personal information. We do not currently use advertising pixels, behavioral advertising, or a website analytics integration on this website.

Storage and access protections

Names, phone numbers, and athlete ages are stored as readable database fields so the authorized coach can manage lessons and records. Some record identifiers are derived from hashes, but that does not make the associated personal information anonymous. We do not hash or separately encrypt every personal-information field before storing it.

Google provides encryption at rest and in transit for hosted Firestore data. This is not end-to-end encryption: the application and operators with authorized database access can read the information. Sign-in and access controls restrict private records; public availability does not include them. See Firebase’s privacy and security information.

Tracking preferences

This website does not use browser Do Not Track signals to change its operation. It does not run advertising trackers. Google’s sign-in and security services handle information under their own privacy practices, including the cross-service spam and abuse prevention described above.

Instagram and external services

The website links to the Luhrs Baseball Instagram account. If you follow that link or send a message through Instagram, Meta's terms and privacy practices apply. Information you voluntarily provide there is handled through that service and may also be used by Luhrs Baseball to respond to your inquiry.

Children's privacy

Children must not create accounts or submit requests themselves. A parent or legal guardian must arrange lessons for a minor and may provide the athlete's first name and age in years for scheduling. The athlete’s age field describes the participant, not the age of the person completing the form. If you believe a child submitted information directly, contact us so we can review it. Do not submit medical information or other sensitive details through the lesson request form.

How information is shared

Information is available to the authorized coach and providers needed to host, authenticate, store, and secure the service, including Google/Firebase. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal requests, or protect people and the service. Private booking, client, and family records are not published in availability listings or provided to other customers.

Retention

Booking, client, and family records remain stored until they are removed through an administrative process. This website does not currently delete them automatically on a schedule. Service providers may retain authentication, diagnostic, and abuse-prevention information under their own policies. Signing out or cancelling a lesson does not delete its records.

Access, correction, and deletion requests

Contact us to ask about information associated with you or an athlete for whom you are authorized to act, or to request correction or deletion. We may need to verify your identity and authority before sharing or changing private information. Please do not send passwords, verification codes, or medical details in a message.

Requests are handled manually. Deleting a booking does not by itself delete separate client or family records, your Firebase Authentication account, provider security logs, or Instagram messages. A broader request requires reviewing those records separately. Any information retained for legal, security, or dispute purposes needs to be considered when responding to your request.

Questions and changes

For privacy questions or requests, contact the coach through the @luhrsbaseball Instagram account. We may update this policy as the website or our practices change. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
